October SMV Week | Leaders Mentoring Youth Across Nigeria
“We advocate that Traditional , Political, Religious, Selected Civil Servants, Business, and Security Leaders in each State, go to our youths in Secondary and Tertiary Institutions within the S.M.V. Week (October) each year, to teach items of values the nation direly needs.”
Why SMV Week Matters
A nation rises when its values are strong. Across our communities and spheres, we see the signs – talent without direction, influence without responsibility, systems without trust. Young people are growing fast, but not always growing right. And yet, the future the leaders are grappling with is not decided somewhere else. It is being formed daily – in classrooms, in conversations, on the streets where the children lives revolve, and in silence. And unfortunately, the Secondary School by experience appears to be the last gateway to saving the future, as most interventions thereafter are either too late, or unfit for what is.
What Happens During SMV Week
Social Moral Values (SMV) Week brings leaders directly to the youth. Not speeches from a distance. Not policies on paper. But real presence. Real conversations. Delivery of understanding that infuses real values.
For one focused week every October, respected voices across sectors step into schools to pass on what truly sustains a nation, sharing guided relatable stories that will get these values hook for life. With Naija’s personality resources, we shall make lastingly memorable:

- Integrity
- Responsibility, Discipline. and Daring the Best
- Indecent Behaviour and Media
- Civic consciousness – Tolerance and Toleration
- Respect for systems and people
- Care for Waste Dis[osal and Public Properties
- Associations
- Indecent Dressing
- Self Interest vs. National Interest
- Malpractice and Corruption
- Challenging the Odds
- Corporate Social Responsibility
- Parents’ Session – “How Do We Help Our Children Build?”

Why It Matters
Every young person reached is a decision-maker influenced.
Every value taught is a future action shaped.
Every institution engaged is a ripple into families, communities, and systems.
This season of life is when and how nations of decades to come are really formed.
This is how cultures shift – deliberately.
